• Delta variant of COVID-19 is wreaking havoc in India and now is infecting several people across the globe
• The US CDC recently declared Delta variant as a variant of concern
According to an American scientist and health expert Eric Feigl-Ding, the COVID-19 vaccine developed by British pharma giant AstraZeneca has a limited effectiveness against the Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2 which was first found in the country of India.
Citing a study, Eric Feigl-Ding who was associated with AstraZeneca for 16 years said “The efficacy of AZ (AstraZeneca vaccine) against Delta variant is not 90% (it’s 60%), Pfizer is 88% is one non-trial study. However, 1 dose of vaccine (both types averaged) is just 33%. And many countries are just 1 dose vaccinated.”
He further said “Please take Delta variant seriously – it’s the fastest transmission variant known to date. Much much faster. And it has somewhat vaccine evasion, especially 1 dose, and it is much more severe (higher risk of hospitalization).”
