Litchfield Community Center would be hosting the health-related discussion named “follow your gut’’

Litchfield – Charlotte Hungerford Hospital (CHH) and the Litchfield Community Center will present a Health Talk “Follow your gut! – Why a healthy gut makes a healthy you!” by Torrington Gastroenterologist Chioma Anjou, M.D., MPH, on Monday, June 17.

The discussion will be addressing the common causes of common ailments such as reflux, gluten sensitivity, and celiac disease, bloating, diarrhea and much more. Learn what you can do about these things including diet, when to see a specialist, and when to get tested.

The holding of the presentation will take place at the Litchfield Community Center from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. there will be the provision of Light refreshments.

Dr. Anjou joined the Charlotte Hungerford Medical Staff in 2018 and currently practices in Torrington. She completed her gastroenterology training at UCONN, Residency at Warren Alpert Medical School, Brown University, attended Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and got a Degree of Masters from Columbia University.

NEW HARTFORD — Shades of Northwest Hills will meet on the 14th of June at the South End Firehouse and will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The program for the evening will be constituting of painting Freedom Cards, which are basically hand painted wooden cards which consist of a message which would support to military personnel, as well as, their families.

Members will be painting a card of inspiration, signing its back & this will be presented to a member of the military or any veteran who is in need of a lift. When the recipient would feel better, he/she can forward it to someone else after writing their names on the back in order to strengthen them & give them an emotional boost.

There is a need for the painters to bring the usual supplies of painting. The club will provide the cards, patterns, and paints.
