Through its global medicine donation program, the multinational pharmaceutical company Hikma Pharmaceuticals PLC has donated over US $4 million in medicines in 2020. Hikma is continuing its long-running commitment to support charitable entities that address health issues in underserved communities globally.
Hikma has also extended and increased donation agreements with its existing partners such as Direct Relief, Dispensary of Hope, and the National Children’s Cancer Society. Apart from these, Hikma has established new partnerships with Americares which is a global health-focused relief and development organization that provides medicine, medical supplies and health programs to people who have suffered by poverty or disaster.
Hikma has also joined hands with Brother’s Brother Foundation, which provides essential healthcare services (along with supplies), infrastructure, disaster response measures, and education resources to people in 42 countries.
Hana Ramadan, Vice President (VP) of Corporate Social Responsibility at Hikma, said that her company was committed to bring better health to patients and communities around the world. She said that with the help of Hikma’s partners throughout 2020, Hikma increased its medicine donations to low-income groups that included displaced peoples and people without health insurance. According to her, these people faced increased challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. By expanding partnerships with many vital charitable organizations, Hikma hopes to provide broader support for those who need support.
