21st World Congress to explore Remedy for Obesity

The strong branding and promotion of the so called junk food has certainly been profitable for big and small fast food companies globally. It has always been promoted as convenience food due to which excess consumption has increased. But consumption of these fast foods has had an adverse effect on the health of the end consumers resulting in obesity. Such food has high level of calories in the form of fat or sugar.

An individual’s brain function can be impaired if he or she follows a western style diet like carbonated drinks, burgers and such other foods for a week, thereby creating an urge to overeat. According to a research study conducted by Richard Stevenson, a psychology professor at Macquarie University in Sydney, “After a week on a western-style diet, palatable food such as snacks and chocolate becomes more desirable when you are full.”

People who consume junk food regularly seem to have the problem of obesity, disorders related to metabolism is also one of the interrelated effect. Obesity, a chronic disease can be seen commonly among people of all ages and genders globally. So much so that real life television series on obesity were created. These series got a decent viewership as the viewers saw the issues and complications faced by the obese people.

Medical experts, scientists and researchers will work together to fight the serious issue of obesity and related ill effects at the 21st World Congress on Obesity and Metabolic Diseases. It will be held in Manila, Philippines on July 20-21, 2020. This event comprises of various discussions, seminars, workshops and sessions where researchers, medical experts would enlighten the audience about obesity and metabolic disorders in detail. This conference basically targets dietitians, students, fitness authorities, physicians, medical colleges and such other people as audience. This event has been divided into sessions or tracks and sub tracks.

The sessions will have topics of Epidemiology, Pathophysiology of obesity and exogenous obesity. Metabolic disorders as the main topic will include sub tracks such as macro nutrients and weight, diet patterns and other related subjects. This event will cover a wide variety of topics like fat burning foods, general psychology, therapeutic lifestyle changes, obesity on Leptin, Thyroid disorders, causes of binge eating disorder, obesity and type 2 Diabetes and such other sessions about relevant subjects based on metabolic disorders and obesity.
